The Founder
The history of Canopy Beach Bar begins in 2001, when Yiannis Karavouzis created a small hangout for friends and locals on this beach, with the aim of relaxation and summer beach volleyball tournaments.
Over the years and the development of tourism on the island, the place evolved into a family business of the Karavouzis brothers. With the contribution of the younger brother, Argyris, the original hangout grew and took the form of today’s Canopy Beach Bar.

How it all started
Opened in 2001
More than 25 years ago, on this beach in the Prinos Forest, a small idea began with a very simple purpose: relaxation, companionship and love for the sea.
a little place to hang out on the sand
In 2005, Gianni Karavouzis created a small hangout on the sand, almost exclusively for friends and locals. A place where people gathered to enjoy the summer, drink a coffee and participate in the summer beach volleyball tournaments that took place every year on the beach.
the beginning of evolution
Over the years, the area began to attract more and more visitors from all over the world. With the hospitality offered by the family’s rooms, this small hangout began to grow.
the strength of family
Thus, after years of experience, the place evolved into a family and brotherly business. With the contribution of the younger brother, Argy Karavouzis, the vision took on a new form.
the rebranding
Today, the Karavouzis brothers continue this tradition by creating Canopy Beach Bar — a place where relaxation, good company and a summer atmosphere remain at the center.
We remain true to what began all these years:
